In the EDP Gás Porto Granfondo, that goes up the Douro, after Oporto the peloton will pass Gondomar, Paredes, Marco de Canaveses, Baião, Cinfães, Castelo de Paiva, Vila Nova de Gaia, before closing the cycle and find, again in Oporto, the point of arrival.
The longer version of the three routes with which we defy participants, the Granfondo, has 169 km (2670 m of ascent). Starting in Oporto, it changes direction and Douro River bank in Porto Antigo. It would be impossible to have bigger symbolism – the name reminds a journey in time. All along this route the beauty is always present, with the Douro being a constant on the right hand side. The stretch between Pala and Porto Antigo deserves special attention. On the way back, the Crestuma-Lever dam allows the peloton to go back to the right bank of the Douro, before the last uphill difficulty of the route: the short but steep Rua do Tronco, in Gondomar.
